We are pleased to bring you the next offering from Master flameworker Dr Julie Anne Denton, this time she invites you to create your own replica of the famous Pagan Lady's Viking necklace complete with focal beads. The necklace is counted among the 10 wonders of the Viking world and following its discovery on the Isle of Man, National Heritage commissioned Julie to study and recreate this 52 bead, 1,500 year old necklace consisting of 6 amber beads, 44 glass beads, 1 jet and 1 faience. Julie would now like to share the techniques she developed during this exciting project with you. No matter what your current skill level, by the end of this class you will have your own Pagan Lady necklace!
Julie will demonstrate how to create the main focal beads, the intricate murrini, how to mimic aged amber, use glass enamels and powders and to mix your own colours.
Own torch/access to flameworking studio essential. Prior flameworking experience helpful but not necessary.
