With a consistency similar to cottonwool, this high-fire ceramic fibre blanket can be used for supporting delicate (such as syringe work) or complicated metal clay projects on the kiln shelf to help reduce the possibility of distortion in the firing process. It can be torn easily into clumps to form 'nests' around projects or rolled into strips to hold rings upright during firing.
Care should be taken when handling:
- always wear a suitable mask with ceramic fibre product
- avoid contact with skin, rinse if irritation occurs
- wash down surfaces after use to remove any fibre debris
- dispose of fired product in a sealed bag
It can withstand temperatures of up 1200°C.
Size: 30x25cm approx - can also be purchased in larger sizes.
