Crash Course in Kilnforming: Concept to Completion with Morgan Madison

8-11 May 2018  (Tuesday-Friday)

"My work is influenced by place, specifically, I am intrigued by the elements that comprise the built and natural environments around us.  I am interested in them not only for thier ability to tell us about the character of a place but also about ourselves." Morgan Madison

This class will cover the techniques Morgan uses to achieve the crisp linear quality and distinctive character of line and colour in his glass work. You will also learn how to build and develop your own creative concept.

You will spend time with the sketch book before cutting and assembling your glass compositions and doing some basic powder printing; a good easy method without photosensitive emulsion. Finishing work in the cold shop and strategies for presenting it for display will round out the content.

The aim of this class is to give students the tools to pursue their own unique visions efficiently, confidently and to have fun while doing so.

Skill Level - Prior experience in glass fusing/casting would be advantageous.
