Textile Surfaces with Erna Piechna
1-4 November 201 (Wednesday-Saturday) 3.5 days
Fabrics, textiles and weaving are the basis for the creative and technical approach in this class.
We will be working with frit, glass powders and reactive glasses, as well as metallic materials. From these we will create wafer-like components with unusual colour effects, which will be amalgamated in multiple firings. The firings will sometimes produce unpredictable results, which we will analyze and further develop for our personal future exploration and use.
The result will be a picture or wall piece with heavily textured surfaces and an assortment of weathered effects – a narrative of the existence of textiles.
