"Striking glasses" change dramatically to reach target colour during firing. Colours may vary, depending on firing schedule, rate, atmosphere, and heat work.

| Cold characteristics: | Pale transparent amber, similar to 1125 and 1437. May have a struck streak of yellow running lengthwise down the rod. Striker. |
| Torch: | Yellow colour develops in the flame. Keep 1120 transparent by using it in small amounts with minimal heat work, or consider adding it towards the end of the time in the flame. |
| Kiln: | Working properties and kiln formed characteristics are consistent with sheet glass. |
